Roughly half of Americans (54%) say that whether someone is a man or a woman is determined by the sex they were assigned at birth, while 44% say someone can be a man or a woman even if that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth.
Perhaps not surprisingly, considering the widening partisan divide across a variety of issues, Democrats and Republicans have sharply different views on this question. While eight-in-ten Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say that whether someone is a man or a woman is determined by the sex they were assigned at birth, most Democrats and Democratic leaners (64%) take the opposite view and say a person’s gender can be different from the sex they were assigned at birth.
The survey also finds that Democrats with a bachelor’s degree or more education are more likely than other Democrats to say a person’s gender can be different from the sex they were assigned at birth. About three-quarters (77%) of Democrats with a bachelor’s degree or more say this, compared with 60% of Democrats with some college and 57% of those with a high school diploma or less. No such divide exists among Republicans.
Democrats’ views also differ by race and ethnicity. Some 55% of black Democrats and 41% of Hispanic Democrats say a person’s gender is determined by their sex assigned at birth, a view shared by just 24% of white Democrats.
Millennials are somewhat more likely than older generations to say someone can be a man or a woman, even if that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth. Half of Millennials say this, compared with roughly four-in-ten Gen Xers (41%), Boomers (43%) and members of the Silent Generation (37%).

Does any of this disturb you as much as it does me?
I realize and have ALWAYS said that I truly believe some people are born with parts that would come to feel foreign the older they got. I do believe there are some instances where gender-confusion takes place in the womb. However, I do believe this whole “social issue” thing that has flooded our society saturates what’s REAL with what can only be called mental illness.
I have NO problem with people who are gay. I won’t tell them how to live nor will I stand in judgment of them, however, I do expect the same respect and consideration in return.
My Bible tells me to work out my own salvation and while homosexually is wrong and sinful for ME, it does not mean that it is the same for someone else – that’s entirely between them and their God.
The Democrats have always worked hard behind the scenes to keep the gender divisiveness in this country emphasized but thanks to the days of technology, citizen journalism and real-time information resources, people are growing wise to the games of the left. Democrats have been forced to come up with a new victim label that can be used as a primary platform for winning votes so under their watch, an environment was cultivated where simple male/female gender is no longer acceptable.
Every day I grow more concerned about what this world will be when my grandchildren are grown. There are enough challenges in life that everyone must face without creating more chaos but hey, that’s the way of the Democrats and how they lure and secure their voter base.
As a former lifelong Democrat, I realize now that the “Hope and Change” Barack Obama talked about was changing people, not jobs, not economics, not environment, not improving life for American’s – he was focused entirely on changing PEOPLE period.
The Democrats I see today are NOTHING like the Democrats I grew up knowing. There may be some similarities, but this new Alt-Left garbage is churning out a large population of people who are convinced they are victims, dependent on medication in their pursuit of normalcy and who are fed a constant diet of dysfunction.
